  How is Cutimed Sorbact applied to the wound?
Cutimed Sorbact and Cutimed Sorbact gel must have direct contact with the wound bed. Superficial wounds should be dressed with swabs or absorbent dressing pads.
Deep or cavity wounds should be packed with round swabs, ribbon gauze or swabs (depending on the wound size) before covering with a dressing pad to ensure direct contact of the dressing to the wound. » top of page

  Are there any recommendations of use for Cutimed Sorbact?
Moist wound conditions are essential to ensure the efficacy of Cutimed Sorbact and to avoid potential sticking to the wound. In dry or low exuding wounds it is recommended to use Cutimed Sorbact gel dressings.
No ointments or creams should be used in combination as fatty substances will interfere with the dressings' antimicrobial properties. » top of page

  How often do you have to change the dressing?
The frequency of dressing changes depends on the exudate level and the degree of wound contamination. It is recommended to change the dressing every 1 to 3 days. In wounds that show signs of clinical infection, a more frequent wound inspection is advisable. In these cases, an appropriate systemic treatment should be considered.  » top of page

It is not recommended to cut the dressings as small fibres might shed and remain in the wound. » top of page

  How long should Cutimed Sorbact be used?
Until the wound is clean and there is no risk of further colonisation. When microbial balance is achieved it is recommended to change to other suitable wound dressings for the healing phase e.g. moist wound healing products.  » top of page
